I bought this stunning custom Lis Simon gown in a little dress shop in Provo, UT, enchanted by its flattering fit and lace details. The original sleeves were tulip-style sleeves with an overlapping edge, but because I wanted a little more of a whimsical feel to my wedding, I had the sleeves remade into tulle flutter sleeves with gorgeous handmade lace appliques. The dress is a champagne/ivory color, a very warm, subtle, and lovely departure from a more traditional pure-white. It has a very figure-flattering lace bodice that hugs the torso in all of the right places and sculpts the waistline, and it transitions down into a mermaid-style tulle skirt that's sure to stun with a bit of drama added in the mid-length train. I wore the dress with an amazing crystal-studded Lis Simon belt that tied into a bow at the small of my back with a white satin ribbon. Because of my LDS faith, the dress had to fit certain standards for modesty, but no major alterations were made on that front! It was already modest! All in all, this was my dream dress: a perfect mixture of the "undone fairy-queen" vibe and the romantic princess feeling that every bride aspires to have on her wedding day. It was the best of both worlds.
